Conflict of Laws
International or cross-border legal cases are quite common in Switzerland. The explanations are: First, it is a rather small country with a population of only about 8,3 million people -1,7 millions of them being foreigners- second, it is located in the heart of Europe and third, it is one of the world wealthiest countries and fourth, it is of the most advanced economies of the world. This explains why most of our cases systematically involve a thorough analysis of Conflict of Laws issues, meaning to determine the governing law of most cases coming to us.
