Real Estate Transactions

My LL.M. thesis at U.C. Berkeley in 1978 was titled:  Introduction to the Common Law of Real Estate to Civil Law Lawyers.  I am still a connoisseur of the ‘Rule against Perpetuities’…

Almost all Swiss Cantons have completed their task of registering all real estate objects located on their territories in a special official register called Ground-Register, or Grundbuch or registre-foncier or registro fondiario.  All real estate transactions must be validly conducted in front of a Notary-Public and are involving banks or other institutions for their financing aspects.  All such paper-work and technical considerations should be monitored by a Swiss lawyer versed into these types of operations.
